Mini posters Compositae wildflowers series (a5 size). Locally printed on sustainable, high quality paper.
Background: While cycling through the country side of my home region, the Hoeksche Waard, in the South of Holland, I was amazed by the many wildflower patches that had been planted on agricultural land. Here, farmers were working proactively to enhance biodiversity values on their land. The wild flower patches consist of a mixture of flowers, spring wheat, flax and more. Bees find their nectar here, butterflies, ladybugs and other insects find their home, and birds find their food.
These wildflower patches were the main source of inspiration for this post card series. As a small contribution towards the promotion of biodiversity in the Hoeksche Waard region, ten per cent of the proceeds of sales will be donated to a local ENGO called ‘Rietgors’, named after the reed bunting bird that lives in agricultural landscapes. Rietgors works with farmers to enhance biodiversity and landscape values in the region.
