My name is Marleen, I am a textile and product designer based

in the Netherlands.

I am passionate about poetic and minimalist design. In 2017, I graduated in Arts&Crafts from the Willem de Kooning Academie (WdKA) in Rotterdam. During my studies, I have completed internships at studio Tas-Ka (the Hague) and studio LileSadi (Rotterdam). I was based in Dublin between 2017-2020, and have recently moved back to the Netherlands. Here, I combine my textile design practice with creative work in the fields of product photography, graphic design and floral design.

In June 2018, my textile design was featured in the ‘One Year In’ section of the New Designers exhibition in London. In 2019, my work has been featured in COVER magazine, in Hole & Corner as ‘ones to watch’ and as runner-up in the Irish Made awards of the Irish Country Magazine (textiles category). In January 2019, I curated an interdisciplinary exhibition called Message to the Earth (Fumbally Stables, Dublin), and in May I participated in the group exhibition ‘Vers’ of Bergarde Galleries in the Netherlands. I have recently become a member of artist collective YEDS, which focuses on including art in business, both in physical form but also in encouraging creative work processes.

With my new collection of tactile cushions and flower postcards, I am contuining to expand my creative portfolio. I aim keen to keep experimenting, learning and enter into new collaborative creative partnerships.
