Marleen v Haaften
My name is Marleen, I am a Dutch textile and product designer based in Dublin. I am passionate about poetic and minimalist design. In 2017, I graduated in Arts&Crafts from the Willem de Kooning Academie (WdKA) in Rotterdam. During my studies, I have completed internships at studio Tas-Ka (the Hague) and studio LileSadi (Rotterdam). I moved to Dublin late 2017, where I have since then combined developing my textile design practice with creative work in the fields of product photography and graphic design.
In June 2018, my textile design was featured in the ‘One Year In’ section of the New Designers exhibition in London. In the recent year, my work has been featured in COVER magazine, in Hole & Corner as ‘ones to watch’ and as runner-up in the Irish Made awards of the Irish Country Magazine (textiles section). In January 2019, I curated an interdisciplinary exhibition called Message to the Earth (Fumbally Stables, Dublin), and in May I participated in the group exhibition ‘Vers’ of Bergarde Galleries in the Netherlands.
